There ya go, my experience in the pasar malam. Worth a shot to try it out, since the food there is really as cheap as hell, it was almost a crime, and the taste is pretty good for what you're paying for. A reprisal is possible, when I have the chance to eat here again

St. Andrew Pasar Malam
We had to do a little OT in the office, so once we were done, we were wondering where exactly should we have our dinner, and since our KL colleague will be here for the moment, my best friend decided to bring him to one of our local pasar malam (night market)
This be the entrance of the pasar malam. It's locate a little towards town, but not quite, and just right opposite the Protestant church St. Andrew's Church. I've heard a lot about this place, but I have yet to actually set foot and check it out, so this was a great opportunity for me to have a get-go and do a piece

Entering the area...

Some shots of people doing their thing in the pasar malam. Technically we have another pasar malam which is in the Gadong area (which I may or may not do a piece), but we wanted somewhere where we can actually sit down and eat, that's why we chose this area

Going all trigger-happy around the area and at all the different shops that were in display in the area. Unlike the pasar malam in Gadong, they're in stalls ala food court-esque, whereas the former is mostly hawker stalls and also sells other misc stuff. But 90% of the time, it's Malay stalls here, and they seem to have an affinity for displaying their seafood stuff

Trigger-happy to show how fresh their seafood are

Finally decided on a food stall and got myself a grape cordial drink. It's not really the fact that I want to drink it (since I was actually craving for Dad's Root Beer), it's more of the fact that the colour drew me in. The taste was more or less average

Our KL colleague ordered his Teh-O (I think), requesting it to be not too thick as it gives off a really bitter tea taste. At least this tastes good for him

He ordered a mixture of noodles combined together (meehoon, mee and kuey tiaw) with a fried egg on top which looked like it's one of those that was drowned in sambal or Thai sauce or something XD

I saw that they had a really tasty looking steamed chicken with rice, so I ordered that, topping it with quail eggs kebab. It's very rare to actually get to eat quail eggs unless you're using it as a condiment for soba or if you're eating steamboat, so seeing this sold in kebabs like it was the most normal thing in the world was absolute win! I had to take two sticks for good measure, and the taste of the eggs were just abso-fucking-lutely delicious~! Xd

My KL colleague had a bit of craving to try their clams, so he ordered about a couple hundred grams of that stuff. It was cooked pretty well and the sauce was quite flavourful, but the only flaw it had was that the flesh was uber small. Even clams served back in my hometown was not that small! It was a bit of a pain trying to eat it, and some weren't cooked enough for the clam to split open (either that or the clam had some life left in it) but it was a pretty interesting experience

My best friend didn't eat a main course like we did because he had dinner waiting at home, but he did get us some nice mixture of sate, which tastes pretty nice with the peanut sauce and all. The chicken and beef were especially nice
