Prezzo Reprised

We went to go watch The Wolverine last night, but before that, we needed to chow, so we decided to eat somewhere nearby the cinema, and what better place to eat than Prezzo? LOL

My wine, which is about 125ml. Don't want to get too buzzed before the movie, and it's been a while since I've taken wine

My hubs ordered his predictable spaghetti, so I didn't really take a picture.

My risotto was actually pretty interesting. I've never tried risotto before and I've always been curious to try them after seeing many cooking shows about them. A lot of them say risotto is like a chef's Kryptonite since you can't cook it too hard or too soft, but for my risotto, it was actually pretty good. Soft with a subtle crunch, so it didn't really disappoint. And the yummy creamy cheese and the fresh crunchy juicy prawn, mmm~! Creme de la creme of the whole thing

Randalls Coffee House

Bunking in a hotel, and we were pretty hungry since we didn't really have a decent meal, so we're having a super late night supper at Randalls Coffee House

Location: Around Harrows, right next to Cumberland Hotel

Setting: A very modest-looking coffee house with all its trimmings, and even offers bong-smoking

It was a light meal, coz we didn't really have much of an appetite and we were still in a funk about the whole incident at home, and apparently the waiter forgot about my order and the portion was pretty big anyways, so I ate half of each of those paninis

And it was super late, almost midnight when we were done and they were almost closing, so we ate in a bit of a rush

Ponti's Restaurant

Needed to cool off from a rather wretched scene back home, so we went shopping, and we needed some lunch, so while it's a little awkward, no plans on breaking routine, as we blog about Ponti's Restaurant.

Location: Within the shopping mall (kinda forgot what the name of the shopping mall was)

Setting: Typical Bistro-ish restaurant, and yes, self-order and self-service

My spaghetti carbonara was actually pretty tasty, though things usually taste better when you're hungry, but at the same time, we were still in a dark mood, so we couldn't really fully appreciate and enjoy our food. Guess feelings do affect your appetite and taste buds somehow

Overall rating: 7/10 (for the food), 5/10 (due to feels)

Toby Carvery

After a long day at Cadbury World (which is awesome-tastic, btw), we've finally settled for a late lunch at this place called Toby Carvery

Location: Birmingham, just a few miles away from Cadbury World

Setting: English pub/restaurant feel to it, though it seems that no restaurant is complete without a bar somehow

An awesome toy box machine where I tried my luck a few times, just to please my nephew and to use up all my coins, but no luck

We went for the buffet set meal in which you can have your fill of meat and unlimited buffet supply of side dishes and vegetables, but I don't get why it's the side dishes that is unlimited and not the meat. I mean, what's the point of having a buffet if you can't have the unlimited supply of meat as well? I dunno

Sheperd's pudding or some kind of bread, but this is got to be the hardest pudding I've ever eaten LOL

Despite the odd limit to meat and not on the vegs, it was still a very satisfying meal. A very filling one too since obviously with all the free access to the side dish, you might not even have room to fill in anymore meat. And all this is worth about 5 pounds! It's quite a bargain!
