Next stop, to celebrate our own New Year Eve lunch, despite the fact that I was still recovering from my food poisoning, but what the hey, you only live once!
According to certain tradition (mostly what I learnt from my mom), to celebrate the new year eve, you must have the certain dishes in your menu: noodles (for longevity), egg (signifying the birth of a new year), milk (no idea why) and cake (celebrate the birth of the new year, I think), and the only thing we can think of that account for all these was western food, so of course, Fratini's Restaurant Pasta & Pizza it was~!

This be the entrance of the restaurant. Technically Fratini had a lot of branches that even went all the way to Malaysia (in Miri, where I went there for the first time while I was still in Curtin, and also when we needed it as a study for our Human Resource Management course unit that I barely passed), but since we were in Gadong, and I've never done a piece for this, we decided to go to Gadong branch, which is situated along the same block with Centrepoint Hotel, Coffee Zone and Jolly Bee

Trigger-happy moments, especially for the outdoor dining

This be the interior of the restaurant. A little cramped and whatnot, and quite cold, and I was cursing and swearing to myself for not bringing my hoodie along since I just can't stand the cold and all, but it's not really entirely unbearable. The design feels almost like Mauri, but just a little bit less classy than it should

There's an ice-cream parlour there, possibly for the waiters and waitresses to scoop on whenever the customers needed a dessert fix. Looks creamy, but not as cool as the ice-cream I saw in Bakerlyn though

A few trigger-happy moments on particular areas and decors of the restaurant

I ordered cafe latte for drinks, to bring in the milk part of the new year menu. I was still recovering, so I can't really afford to drink cold stuff and need something warm for my ill-prone belly. LOL Tastes pretty good, though needs a bit of sugar to counter the bitter coffee taste which they seem to tend to emphasize on despite being called "milk coffee"

My friend ordered Coke, though let's hope he didn't get an addiction to it

More trigger-happy

My friend ordered linguine ai frutti di mare, which is flat pasta served with seafood, garlic, fresh herbs and tomato sauce (got that directly from the menu I snuck a picture of, coz I suck at remembering dish names XDDD), though I think I've only tried it once when I was in one of their branches

This is my order, which the famous fettucini carbonara. It has noodles and egg all in one, so the menu was covered, though I gotta admit, Mauri's carbonara was actually quite cheesier than this, come to think of it

This time, for dessert (and the cake part of the new year menu), we both decided to try out their chocolate pudding. Unlike the chocolate pudding in Saffron or in Mauri, this was not served with ice cream. Just a hot bowl of melted chocolate pudding sprinkled with icing sugar and a cherry on top. It looks like just a chocolate cake or something, but when you break through and scoop it, the melted pudding just oozes out, giving you that ultimate chocolatey taste, so it's still fine without the ice-cream
Here ya go, my two-cents on Fratini's. A pretty good and recommendable place to be, even though it's not as flavourful as Mauri, but be forewarned, you must feel very rich to go to this place, because the prices are quite dear, much dearer than Mauri
