Rejoice Chicken Rice Sdn Bhd

Went with my part-timer for lunch after a bit of a long day's work, and since we were craving chicken rice, she decided to introduce and take me here to Rejoice Chicken Rice

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. It's located up on the hill within Gadong area at a small junction where the tiny detour would lead you straight into the heart of Gadong and The Mall. Apparently it pretty much share the same legacy with Thien Thien in terms of having the best chicken rice and been around since the dawn of time or something of that sense and my part-timer boasts of this place being better than the latter. Well, I will have to see to know whether or not it's worth forsaking Thien Thien for

This be the interior of the shop. It's actually quite busy and noisy, just as hustling and bustling as Thien Thien itself. We almost couldn't find a seat for ourselves, but luckily we managed to secure one after wading through the hoard

My order of barley drink. As usual, the sugar is not completely dissolved, but turns out they're really skimping on the sugar because once stirring them to dissolve it, turns out it's not enough to make the barley be any sweeter than it should. Meh~!

My part-timer friend ordered lo han guo, which is one of the many herbal Chinese cooling tea that we Chinese tend to drink regardless if it actually truly promotes good health or not. Apparently they put a little too much herbs in it because no amount of sugar water she added was enough to counter the bitterness of the herbs XP

Here's our chicken rice. They didn't have steamed chicken, so I settled with roast instead. Despite the fact that my part-timer friend raved about how this place was much better than Thien Thien because it wasn't as oily as theirs, but one look from the picture, you can tell that I really beg to differ on that theory -_-;;

So if you're into sinful indulgence or just a little tired of eating Thien Thien all the time even though you have a craving for chicken rice, this could be a better alternative for you, though I'd say Thien Thien is still the best
