Icebar & Cafe
For our usual Saturday lunch date, my buddy and I were actually planning to have just desserts for lunch, but somehow, something went south and we decided to just fuck it and eat whatever we want, so we decided to try shabu shabu instead, and what better way to eat affordable shabu shabu than to have it in Icebar & Cafe

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. It's located within the Plaza Hotel/Mall down in Kiulap, which is the building just across from Yappy Kopitiam. For those who don't know, shabu shabu is actually a Japanese term for meat and soup dip, in which you order your own choice of meat (chicken, beef or pork, or in this case, mutton) and your own choice of soup to dip the raw meat in, and eat the rest like as you would with steamboat. It's been forever since I tried shabu shabu since the last time I ate it in Taiwan, so yeah, this would be a good time to try
Outdoor dining, but prolly for those who come here to have their ice bar, as this restaurant not only serves shabu shabu, but also shredded ice smoothies in a bowl

This be the interior of the restaurant. Nice, noisy and busy, goes to show that it definitely have a lot of customers going on here and business was really rolling. It looked almost a little like a sushi restaurant of sorts but not entirely so. An intriguing design with a lot of walking space

Trigger-happy on the stove that is used to heat up your soup, with a automatic dial to control the heat yourself

This would be the sauce booth, where you can pick whatever sauce you want to add into your soup or as condiments for the steamboat side dishes and meat, which is pretty interesting as there is almost a gajillion types of sauce and condiments to choose from
This be the menu of the restaurant, which looks pretty old school, actually
My buddy's Coke...
and my 100Plus

This be the steamboat side dish we had for our shabu shabu. It's both the same ingredients of the usual fungi, mushrooms, eggs, fish, prosthetic crabstick, corn and dumplings

My buddy ordered spicy and sour soup (I think), which tastes pretty interesting...

...along with the chicken that came with his order, which, after I grabbed a cooked piece, tastes pretty yummy...
...and rice that came along with the order

I was in a mood for hot and spicy, so I ordered tom yam soup for my steamboat dish, which goes amazingly well with tons of chopped parsnips, parsley and spring onions...

...along with beef, which is super fresh and super yummy dipped in spicy soup...

...and it came with noodles, which prolly taken out from an instant noodle pack or something
The experience eating here was new and appetizingly exciting, not to mention very, VERY filling, but surprisingly we managed to finish our share despite the fact that we ordered a large portion. The whole thing was yummy, flavourful and perfect portion to satisfy more than expected. Definitely a must-try for this restaurant
