Howdy, everyone! Here I am with another installment of foodiez posts after finally our wedding is over and done with. It was amazing, and I'll probably to talk about it
here, but in the meantime, let's get some nice posts started.
My friend was craving a bit of fried rice, so he decided to take me to this place that served 0ne of the best fried rice there is, which is Jade Crystal Kopitiam & Cafe

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. It's situated a bit way out in Serusop (or was it Menglait?) and it seemed like it was quite a new place, since this is the first time I've ever heard of it. The workers there were quite enthusiastic to see me flashing my camera and in fact was quite hospitable to us, even trying to promote their function room and giving us a business card. They must think I'm either a tourist or a reporter. LOL!

This be the interior of the cafe. Looks quite teeny on the inside despite being huge on the outside. Usually it supposed to be the other way round, but somehow this is not. Anywho, it does have some sort of bistro feel to it, although after taking the shot I had a very nagging feeling that the woman in this shot looked like my mom

More trigger-happy moments

This be the function room, after a bit of request granted from the staff there. It was mighty small, not so impressive, probably just enough to have a small birthday function, but not big enough to have a wedding function or something, but still I'm quite impressed with the space. Maybe one of my birthdays, I'll consider having it here

This be our drinks we ordered, served in those huge bistro coffee mugs, but not as big as the mugs served in Coffee Bean

This is my friend's peppermint tea, though the colour looks almost like green tea

This be my Earl Grey tea, though it looks like red or black tea to me, and when asked, I'd say it tastes almost like a mix between green tea and red tea

This is the legendary fried rice that my friend is so craving about. I totally forgot what exactly is the name of the fried rice. Something like Nasi Goreng Bakang or something. I stole a taste and it pretty much just taste like any regular fried rice. Technically it looks more like the famous Thai fried rice Nasi Pataya or something

This be my order of fish and chips. Surprisingly this was not the fish and chips I have expected. The usual fish and chips I know would be huge and needs a fork and knife to cut them up, but this one is more like finger food style, probably the ones that they sell in the streets in foreign countries where they serve in newspaper rolls and you eat as you go. Pretty interesting version, I have to admit, and the taste was not too shabby either, though not entirely filling as a normal fish and chip would
There you go. My findings on Jade Crystal. It's a pretty affordable place for those who crave Western food but thin in the wallet department, so it'll be great to give it a shot. No harm done
