Coconut-Grove Restaurant

Me and my hubby had one of those rare lunch dates where I can spend time with him, and I even offered to treat him for the sake of being with him (I'm clingy sometimes, I know) but since he was on site with his colleague, I suppose it's a small price to pay to be with my hubby. So we went to a place that my hubby recommended, which is Coconut-Grove Restaurant.

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. It's situated away from The Mall but still within the Gadong area, towards the left side of the overhead bridge that leads towards town area. That was my first time going there, so it was pretty new to me

This be the interior of the place. It feels almost a little bit like Yappy Kopitiam, but just a bit wider and spacious than Yappy. One thing's for sure, it was pretty cold in there, so I had to insist on sitting somewhere away from the air-conditioning

A little deities for luck, anyone?

I needed something warm to drink, so I ordered their home-made soyabean, though they really need to work on adding a little flavour, like sugar, for instance

As usual, my hubby ordered ice lemonade, though I can't see what's so nice about this drink though

My hubby's colleague who joined us ordered Pepsi, standard issue

All duckies in a row

My hubby ordered lemon chicken, which looks pretty delicous. Of course, he didn't want to eat the lettuce and the tomatoes and cucumbers, so I helped him eat them, and you can taste that sweet and sour sauce of it

This is what my hubby's colleague ordered, which I think it's pork chop rice or something. It looks delicious, though I'm not sure how would it actually taste since it's his and I don't dare to taste it

This is what I ordered: Chicken mee sua, which is basically meehoon with chicken herbal soup. Just thought that since it's really quite rare to eat mee sua in a Muslim country where the main ingredient for the herbal soup was rice wine, I better savour the moment of being able to have a chance to eat it. It tastes wonderful, just like a mee sua should, and the soup was friggin' awesome. I enjoyed every bite of it. It's the best mee sua I've eaten so far since the last time I had it in Jenny's Noodles, which was another Chinese restaurant in Kiulap which had shut down to be replaced by a vegan restaurant

That is my two-cents for this restaurant. Pretty good place to enjoy a bit of the Chinese cafe cuisine. Quite recommendable, though a bit of a drive and need a bit of spotting, since the signboard is not that obvious
