Fancy a quick meal that is cheap and easy while you still have time to kill before the movie and hadn't have your meal for the day? This may be a good place to be. At least it tastes better and feels classier than eating in the Food Court! LOL

West Street Cafe
My hubby and I were going to watch The Expendables that night, so we decided to eat out. I've always wanted to do a piece on West Street Cafe, so we went to eat there. Besides, it's cheap!

This be the entrance and signboard of the cafe. It's situated at the 3rd floor of The Mall in Gadong just right beside the cinema and the games store. Not sure who was the one who built this cafe, but I bet this cafe is more of a side income for them as the real money goes to the popcorn and movie tickets

This be the interior of the cafe. Very small, but not cramped, though it's almost constantly dark and gloomy with very little lights on except the ones on the side and the corner. Not exactly good for the eyes, but at least it's good for privacy. I like their display of masks though. Very interesting, especially the Guy Fawkes mask of V for Vendetta. Makes me wanna just smash it and grab the sucker for my own
Now don't be fooled with the high-classed air of the cafe. Despite the fact that it looks and feels like a cafe where you would expect your food to be bloody expensive, their food is actually very cheap, almost kopitiam cheap. Well, almost, anyways. Though choices are limited, as you can see from the very thin 2-page menu given to us
I ordered Oreo Chocolate shake. Just felt like drinking something sweet and cold as usual, and my hubby only ordered warm water because he needed to headache meds
Close up of my drink

I ordered Penang fried kuay teow. I usually am a big fan of Penang fried kuay teow, the best one being a particular shophouse in Miri behind Grand City Hotel (which I'll blog about it when I have the chance) where they've got big portions of prawn and clam and top it with sunny-side up. This taste fair enough, though if they added the sunny-side up would be nice. At least they were generous on the seafood in quantity (though not quality size)

My hubby ordered Japanese teriyaki chicken with rice (no idea what's his obsession with teriyaki chicken anyways), which looks as its namesake does. I've tried a piece before and it tastes fairly nice as well. I'll probably only give credit for the tray and utensils used because they're nice with that cool authentic feel
