Kedai Mewah Seri Selatan/Hing Nam Foong

I was hitching a ride home with my best friend after a half-day work on Saturday since my hubby couldn't pick me coz of work, and since we're out, we had lunch at a small Chinese shop called Hing Nam Foong

This be the signboard of the shop. At first, I assumed my best friend was taking me to eat at Champagne Restaurant since he said it was the best mee pok in the entire Brunei, but apparently it was here instead. It is situated at Menglait area, which apparently is the old Gadong

This be the interior of the shop. Looks like any other old-school Chinese coffee shop. Apparently according to my other friend, there is supposedly a boss here who would grumble and shout at his staff if they were slow to serve, but I never had the courtesy to meet the boss, I'm afraid.

My best friend's favourite drink: Kasturi ping as usual

Felt a little dehydrated, so I ordered 100Plus

This is what my best friend ordered, which is the famous mee pok, in which he requested to add char sau and wantan. You can really see the oiliness of the mee pok, but still it cannot rival the sinful oily indulgence of the mee pok in Champagne Restaurant. My friend got hungry some more and ordered Wa Tan Ho, but I was enjoying my food so much I forgot to take a picture

This is what I ordered: Fried soup noodles, which is basically noodles that have been first fried, then soaked in dark soup. I wanted to try the mee pok actually, but I had a strong craving for soup noodles, so I ordered this instead. Of course, it didn't feel enough, so I ordered kolo wantan as well, in which I forgot to take picture too XP

So if you have a craving for something simple or something Chinese, or you wanna make a comparison in which is the better mee pok after eating in Champagne, this is a pretty good spot to give a shot at
