The Coffee Zone

For this post, initially we wanted to go to eat at D'Aprils, but since it wasn't open, we decided to eat at somewhere else closer, which is in The Coffee Zone

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. It's situated in Kiulap under the same block as Saffron and at the ground floor of the building where Le Taj and Capers are. The Coffee Zone has a few branches around the area, including Gadong, and usually specializes in drinks and desserts, but they do sell ala carte dishes in occasions. Yes, I know, another food-concentrated spot like Gadong, but that's how it is.

This be the interior and decor of the restaurant. Looks more or less like any sort of cafe design, the only difference was that they have a buffet table ready, probably for the sungkai buffet at night that seemed to dominate the market during the fasting month

Trigger happy on the cakes and confectioneries they specialize in

I ordered mocha latte, which actually tastes more coffee than milk though, but doesn't taste too bad either

To be honest...I totally forgot what drinks my friends ordered... ^^;

My friend ordered chicken pie, which tastes pretty good, but I probably prefer the one that was made by RBC Express, coz they're much more creamier, thicker and more buttery

My friend ordered steak, which I took a bite and am pretty satisfied with the taste. It's just right. Not too tough, not too soft either. Just nice

I ordered fish and chips, as usual if want to test the new haunt. Nice and crispy, and thankfully you can taste that it's one of those fresh fish and not those that is defrosted or anything.

My other friend ordered chicken chop. I tried a bit and it tastes pretty good too, especially the gravy. Nice and thick.

The only beef I probably have is that they take so long to make our meal. Either it's because of the fasting that made them move slow, or maybe it's because they mostly specialize on drinks and desserts that main courses and ala carte dishes aren't much of their priority

But still, if you have a craving for cafe-style Western food, feel free to go here, but it would be better to go there if you fancy a snack instead.
