Restoran Anee Puri Sdn Bhd

My friend had read about the advertisement in the newspaper about this restaurant having roast duck burger, so we decided to come here with our other friend and his girlfriend and gave this place a shot.

This be the signboard of the restaurant. It's fairly new, being raved about its dim sum that is so fresh that if you order their har kau, you can really hear the Q-Q crunch as you bite onto the prawn. It's that fresh, but kinda pricey. It's situated in Gadong, right next to The Mall and beside UniTech and one of the most famous pirated CD/DVD shop in the block

This be the interior of the shop. It was set in more or less contemporary but slightly modern taste. It's got a really interesting lighting design in which they actually use dim sum baskets for the lights! LOL And their kitchen is one of those public kitchen where you can actually watch the cooks do their thing, and you can literally see the steam and the fire as they cook the food, making you anticipate more of your meal.

This place used to be green-themed and owned by another company who set up a great Western cuisine shop, but because of the high-class feel to it, it gave off the illusion that it was expensive and people shy away from it, whereas I went there once before this came out and the food was actually very affordable. It died and then became this.

This is what my other friend ordered: Roast duck rice. Looks like a small portion but it was actually pretty filling, well, according to him, that is

This is what my other friend's girlfriend ordered: Stir-fried wet noodles. Looks and smells very good, although not sure if it really tastes as good as it looks, even when the girlfriend claims to be so

This is what I ordered: stir-fried wet kuey tiaw Hong Kong style. It's almost like eating wa tan ho, but without the egg sauce and plenty of seafood and capsicums all over it. Tastes pretty good, nice and thick, a little bit salty in the edges, but still very good

And here is our legendary roast duck burger! LOL~! We were already given a bit of a warning when my friend ordered only this and the waitress said "Only this?" but we didn't know why she said that until it actually came. It was basically roast duck and cucumber slices wrapped in pau dough! It was considered a dim sum dish, not an ala carte dish that looks like a burger we had imagined it to be. My poor friend had to settle with this one while we were eating away at our ala carte meal. LOL! I totally feel bad for him

It's a pretty good place to have your good ol' Chinese cuisine, only if you're into the atmosphere itself, while the food was pretty much a-OK. So go ahead and give this a shot, but do not order the roast duck burger unless you're in for the dim sum meal~! XD
