Kenny Roger's Roasters

We were at 1Borneo again and we decided to give Kenny Roger's a shot since it has been years since we eaten stuff like that. Personally I've only eaten it once when the branch was in Karamunsing before it turned into a computer mall, and my impression was that it was a bloody high-classed fast food restaurant and friggin' expensive. But since now we have Brunei money conversion higher rate in KK, why not?

This be the front of Kenny Roger's. It is located in the basement as well in 1Borneo, and it still gave off the high-classed, expensive feel for a fast food restaurant

This be the interior of Kenny Roger's. The first thought that crossed my mind while taking pictures of this place was that it looked rather almost the same setting as Pizza Hut, only bigger and probably classier. While I snapped away after taking my order, my fiance told me not to make my picture-taking too over-rated and try not to make people think that they are being photo-attacked or something. Ah, who cares? They're KK people while I'm residing in Brunei. Who's gonna stop me?

While waiting for the order to come, you can see their lovely chickens roasting away in their roasting machine, making you drool while you wait...

This is the drinks that we ordered. We went to eat with my childhood friend, and the orange juices belonged to yours truly. The little mug there with the Kenny Roger's symbol (like what The Chicken Rice Shop did with their mugs) belongs to my friend, drinking only warm water.

This was their soup of the day. Very nice and creamy and quite flavourful. You can more or less tell that this was chef-made and not can-made

These are what we ordered: Quarter chicken set meal. If we ordered the set meal, we get to choose 3 side dishes and have homemade muffins of our choice (banana, chocolate or vanilla, I think) for dessert. My fiance ordered mash potatoes, corn and carrots and aromatic rice for sides dishes, while my friend ordered pasta, mash potatoes and aromatic rice, and I ordered coleslaw, baked beans and mash potatoes. All of them tasted very good (the chicken especially, so tender), almost like eating money, but the only beef we had were the mash potatoes. It didn't have much flavour and depended on the gravy to give it the flavour. It tasted like one of those young, unripe potatoes that had next to no salt.

This be our dessert. Since we were all choco-holics, we all ordered chocolate muffins. It tastes wonderful, and it was obvious that it's fresh from the oven since the sweet smell was so overpowering. The only beef I have about these muffins is that they had raisins in it. Not that I don't like raisins, it's just that if it were chocolate muffins, they should make an effort to keep the taste by putting chocolate chips instead.

By far, this is probably one of those fast food guilty indulgence that should only be tried once in a blue moon, because in the end it was bloody expensive, but more or less worth the money.
