Restoran/Kedai Kopi Seng Hing

The day after our post-wedding party, my godmother decided to treat us for breakfast downtown, and of course, she chose the place that has the best tom yam in KK, which is in Kedai Kopi Seng Hing

This be the signboard of the place. It's somehow both a restaurant and a kopitiam, so I dunno which signboard I should take and snapped both instead. It's situated within the Sinsuran area, which is in between Centre Point and Merdeka Mall by a few kilometers in between each of them, gobsmack in the middle of town area. After so many years, it still retained its old school setting of the buildings around, and it sure brings me back memories of the years back in the 80's when I was still a munchkin walking around these streets and has been part of my childhood and growing up for years

This be the interior and outdoor dining of the place. The person who runs this restaurant is actually an apprentice and now a Master of their own right after learning from the original chef who makes kick-ass Tom Yam noodles and her shop being somewhere on the way to the KKIA (Kota Kinabalu International Airport), which I had the luck of going there when I was younger to have her amazing dish

This be my Milo ping drink...

...my hubby's and my mom-in-law's warm lemon tea (after finding out that the term "honey lemon tea" does not exist in KK somehow XD)...

...and my dad-in-law's coffee kaw with less sugar

Here you are, KK's best Tom Yam in the house, though to be honest, the original chef is still much better, but still they have captured the basic taste of the Tom Yam soup. The right texture, the right flavour and the right spiciness of it, and the prawn and vegs that comes with it is just oh-so-fresh~! Xd

My hubby was not feeling well at the time, so he just ordered pan mian, though this version of pan mian is less fatter than the usual pan mian we usually eat. I didn't try it, so can't really comment on how it tastes like, but it really looks yummy though

One of their famous side dish would be the chicken feet skin soaked in cold lime juice mixed with onion slices. Tastes amazing as usual, the nice ice-cold and sourish sauce with the QQ chewy taste of the chicken feet skin is just great and compliments each other very well

So if you have a craving for Tom Yam while you're in KK, go ahead and check this place out. You won't regret it!
