Kedai Kopi Seng Nyen

Alright, the next few posts will be places that I have eaten when I went back to my hometown. We shall start with the first place (well, technically not the first, since the first place we ate was in Limbang, but I forgot to whip out my camera for it) we ate, which is Kedai Kopi Seng Nyen

This be the signboard, entrance and interior of the kopitiam all in one, since it is a small place. It's located within the outskirts of Papar town, where most of the sundry stores, kopitiam-s and shops that you usually go to growing up during the good old 70's and 80's are. Definitely brings back memories of my childhood just by the smell of those murky shops alone, though it goes to show how OLD I am -_-;;

Our drinks that we ordered, consisting of...

My mom-in-law and my hubby's warm lemon tea...

My dad-in-law's coffee...

And my soya bean drink, complete with the old school bottles that you usually drink from when you were a kid back in grade school. Wow, now that brings back memories too, especially when it also reminds me of my old job in F&N Beverage company

I ordered the same food my dad-in-law ordered, which is soup noodles with pig's "spare parts", which I haven't eaten in like forever. Tastes pretty yummy. A little bit on the salty side, but the "odds and ends" were quite fresh and delicious :d

My hubby and his mom ordered satay, which tastes pretty good, though a little on the chewy side, and unfortunately the sauce was not towards their liking. For me, since I'm born and bred a Malaysian and never was a picky eater to begin with, the sauce was alright with me as I was used to the taste growing up eating it, but for them, they weren't used to it

So there you have it, the first entry of my foodie escapade on our way to my hometown. Will post more soon!
