Genki Teppanyaki

On the premiere of Star Wars VII, we decided to have something special for dinner, and we've actually been eyeing that restaurant ever since we saw it officially open. We wanted it to be our place to eat for our anniversary, but either way, here's Genki Teppanyaki.

Location: Citisquare, Ground Floor, facing directly opposite Fish & Co.

Setting: A nice Japanese themed design, with Japanese Kanji-written menus on the wall of the counter

Below is what we ordered:

My Milo Dinosaur

Wakame for appetizer

My hubs' teppanyaki beef

My teppanyaki salmon

Tori katsu chicken for side dish

Our garlic rice

Ebi tempura for side dish

The food overall is pretty nice and flavorful. I especially like the tori katsu chicken, very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The garlic rice have just the right combination of flavour to it and the wakame and ebi tempura, while not as good as the ones in Excapade or Misato, taste just as good. Sadly because it was flavourful, it's also quite salty, and leaves you with the thirsty aftermath. I had to buy a large drink for my movie snacks after that, it was that salty. You don't feel it at first, just after you finish eating.

Other than that, it's a pretty interesting place to enjoy your meal. Prolly might do a reprisal, since we were a little racing for time while eating coz we're looking forward to Star Wars VII, but other than that, go ahead and give it a shot. Just be prepared for the aftermath.

Overall rating: 6.5/10
