So far, this is what I'm getting from this restaurant. Pretty good, but I think they're probably more suitable to stick to their forte, which is catering, unless they bring back their former glory as a proper restaurant

GK Restaurant
My buddy suddenly had a craving to eat at one of his childhood restaurants, and my gal pal decided to compensate girls' night out to join our Saturday lunch date, so we all bundled up after my work and made our way to GK Restaurant

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. They just so happen to make that pose when I was actually planning to snapshot the entrance XD Neways, it's located somewhere in the Gadong area (or was it Menglait), and judging by the modern look but old signboard, this has definitely stood against the test of time

This be the interior of the restaurant. Looks SUPER empty save for maybe one table of customers who are prolly friends of the boss who runs this place. Apparently after its golden years of being a regular restaurant, they're now rendered to just doing catering for big functions at homes and whatnot, and the workers there were absolutely free to do as they please as no customers except their own would set foot in this place. My buddy said it feels like one of those Chinese movie scenes where restaurants are just a front for a more shady business or something. Yeah right, as if Brunei is capable of that, but then again, anything can happen
Listless waitresses gathered there not sure what to do, pretending to be busy, since they've never served a solid customer before XD

Trigger-happy on the table items. The menu sure shows how old this restaurant is
Our drinks of 100Plus (mine), Coke (my buddy) and Pepsi (my gal pal)

My gal pal ordered some sort of chicken dish with rice. Sweet and sour chicken, I think. I tried one of them and it's quite good. Crunchy on the outside, tender and chewy on the inside. Quite yummy

My buddy ordered some sort of beef with rice, but somehow the waitress mistaken it as a dish he ordered since it was not part of the ala carte section. But no big. We're able to share anyways. The beef tastes nice and juicy, flavourful enough, and at least it's not one of those old meat that is super chewy

I ordered kangkung with sambal belacan, as usual, since I don't get to eat it often. Fresh from the pan, it was a bit hard to take pictures of it, so this will have to make do. They also made the same mistake of making it like a dish meal instead of ala carte. Best part about eaten kangkung is the crunchiness, and this dish definitely delivered
