The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

After eating our birthday dinner at Nyonya, we've walked all the way to Coffee Bean to have my friend's so-called birthday cake (my treat, of course).

This be the signboard of the cafe. It's situated downtown just about 5 minutes walk from Yayasan, and a few meters away from being right gobsmack in the middle of Brunei, and it is just right beside De'Royale Cafe which is owned by my ex-boss. So two cafes head to head, but of course, nothing beats a good ol' international well-known cafe that's just as famous as Starbucks

The main entrance of the cafe

This be the interior of the cafe. One thing I see that Coffee Bean takes pride in is the way they stay true to their interior design just as all other branches and franchise does, so when you enter, you would straight away get the feel of Coffee Bean regardless of which branch you go to. Though the air-conditioning was a bit of an overkill. Brr~!

News and mags stand for leisure reading

The variety of cakes, cookies and muffins they have in Coffee Bean, though I know they tend to specialize in chocolate and cheesecakes

The assorted teas and coffees on sale, which is like...a bloody lot of choices! Can't even decide, especially when the packaging itself is really, really pretty

Mugs for sale, with a really retro vector-style artwork

A stand for sugar, napkins, spoons, forks and the like

Outside open-air dining, which is not exactly much room anyways XD

This be our order: Brew of the day, chocolate fudge cake and blueberry cheesecake.

We ordered a small portion for the Brew of the Day, but...well, you call that SMALL? Makes me wonder how does the regular or large portion look like. LOL! It's almost like we're drinking coffee from a bowl or something! XD My friend said the reason why they got huge hunkabaloo cups like this is because it's the only way to fit their cookies for dunking, as you can see on the top picture the size of it. My friend also said it feels like drinking classy kopi-O or something, LOL, and two packets of sugar is actually more than enough. It will have a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but it's a taste that will grow into you

Their chocolate fudge cake is impressive and sweet as usual, and I always try to leave the top frosting to the last, because that is the best part

I think I've only eating the blueberry cheescake once, and it looks pretty delicious too. Though since it's my friend's birthday, I let him have all of it while wishing him Happy 26th Birthday

Coffee Bean is no stranger to anyone, so those who have a craving for indulgence, feel free to go ahead and enjoy a cuppa~!
