Nasi Katok Nur Al Amirah

Went to Sumbangsih again, and thankfully, my favourite nasi katok stall is open, so yay! Blogging time! But unfortunately I didn't bring my trusty camera, so I decided to use my phone instead to take pictures

This be the signboard of the stall within Sumbangsih area. It's situated at the far end of the place towards the right (if you enter from the back). It has always been my usual haunt especially when I need to grab a bite after a long day's tour guiding when I was still working in Sunshine Borneo Tours

This be the setting of the place, more or less, nothing much to say about this. For those who don't know what "nasi katok" means, it's basically fried chicken with sambal sauce on your rice, or if you feel a little extra helping needed, a bit of vegs and/or hard-boiled eggs. In the old days, people make quite a bit of money creating their own version of nasi katok, since every Malay household learn the very basics of cooking that involves learning how to make sambal, and it's often eaten at any given time of the day and night, be it breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner or supper. And to obtain the delicious food that costs you only $1, you have to know which house is selling them and go knocking on the door to buy it, thus the name ("Katok" in Brunei Malay literally means "Knock")

The sambal sauces involved, left is spicy and right is regular ^_^

Here is their chicken, fresh from the frying wok! The best thing about their chicken is that because they use special tapioca flour, the chicken will stay crunchy far longer than any other food cooked with regular flour, and their portion is REALLY HUGE~! Which I am totally in love with Xd

Yumminess of the food spoiled by crappy camera -_-**

So if you crave for the best nasi katok in Brunei, be sure to stop by here, because seriously, it's amazingly awesome!! You won't regret eating this one!!
