C.A. Mohamed

I actually received an email a few months ago where a certain someone who is a Bruneian residing in Perth, Australia actually reading my blog and enjoying it and using it as a guide for her to check out foodiez when she comes to visit Brunei during the hols. She highly recommended C.A. Mohamed for its roti canai, so this blog is dedicated to her XD

This be the signboard and entrance of the restaurant. Technically there are a lot of branches throughout Brunei and considered one of the largest-growing franchise in our country, but the branch we went to is the one which is located within the Yayasan Mall downtown in Bandar, at the 2nd floor of the Mall just by the escalator if you start take the one that is towards Jolly Bee if you're at Ground Floor. Can't miss it

Trigger-happy at the preview menu outside the entrance

This be the interior of the restaurant. Looks just like any other posh Malay restaurant, with super-duper cold air-conditioning and the typical Malay designs incorporated on the settings, lights, walls and floor tiling, and did I mention super-duper cold air-conditioning? XD

We took a window view seat, where we can overlook the city and the water village, as well as the SOAS mosque

Trigger-happy moment. What lies behind Door #1? (LOL, it's actually just a private room for those who have functions and whatnot)

My friend's Teh Tarik India...

And my Tea-C Special, which tastes nice and sweet, just the way I like it, but then again, maybe I should've ordered something warm instead judging by where I was

This be our order (sorry for not choosing roti canai instead, but it's lunchtime XD), which is Mee Goreng Mamak. Well technically I ordered Mee Goreng Special and my friend ordered Mee Goreng Mamak, but in the end it came out looking pretty much the same. LOL! The flavouring is just nice. Not too oily, not too salty and not too spicy. Just nice with the right amount. And the seafood that goes with my order is quite nice and fresh, not one of those that you know it's not fresh by the way it comes out dry and not so juicy :d

My friend ordered a side dish of ayam panggang (grilled chicken). Not sure how it tastes like, since I didn't exactly grab a bite, but it looks like it does

I ordered fish curry as my side dish, and it's got a good spicy kick to it with the freshness of the fish itself to it, which I like it most :d

Contrary to popular beliefs, C.A. Mohamed is actually quite cheaper than expected. Whoever told me that C.A. Mohamed's food are quite dear must've been a real miser because when I paid the bill (it was my treat this time), it was surprisingly cheap, about $16++

So yes, a pretty recommendable Malay restaurant to go to if you crave Malay food
