Went to celebrate my mom in law's birthday and my grandma in law's Chinese birthday (though why they would wanna separate Chinese birthday and actual birthday is beyond me) a couple of months ago at eating out, so it was decided that we have shabu-shabu, so we opt for Trio Hotpot Restaurant.
| Location: Wisma Central (I think) where the main Concepts computer store is located, at the far left of the building |
| Setting: Typical restaurant with upstairs and downstairs dining, a little bit cramped on both floors, but pretty nice ambience and everything |
| Shabu-shabu ingredients and sauce booth |
| Our dining table with the shabu-shabu cooker stove |
It's a buffet style shabu-shabu with all-you-can-eat ingredients for your shabu-shabu, and their products are very, very fresh, especially the prawn, and it was almost in unlimited supply. Drinks are also inclusive of the buffet and also almost in unlimited supply, so we can refill as much as we want without extra charge. But we must finish whatever we eat because they have penalty charges for every 100g of food we leave behind.
It's a bit of a first-come-first-serve basis, and you must book beforehand. Apparently the upstairs is pretty much exclusively for the buffet shabu-shabu while the downstairs is exclusively ala carte meals. I am absolutely satisfied and filled with them scrumptious yummies and highly recommend coming here to eat, but only if you make early reservations because the tables upstairs are quite limited.
