Kenny Rogers Reprise

Did another reprise piece on Kenny Rogers when my godmother asked us to have lunch with her and the food looks pretty appetizing. The entries are gonna be brief though, since it's just a reprisal piece

Chocolate milk shake, forgot what the exact name was, and only because my dad in law couldn't get at least 3 of his previous orders because they ran out of ingredients to make them LOL

Some kind of latte, I guess, that my mom in law ordered

Regular potato salad

Caesar Salad, tastes pretty good, especially the fresh onions

Chocolate fudge cake, which tastes pretty good

Ice cream with muffins

That's what we had so far on that day. Maybe when we go there again and if there's anything else that is interesting and tasty, I'll write it in

Kedai Kopi Ocean King

Went out to have brunch with my dad and his girlfriend and her grandson, since this would prolly be the only time we'll have to hang out together, so they brought us to Kedai Kopi Ocean King

Location: Somewhere within Beverly Hills area, corner shop

Setting: Pretty large for a Chinese kopitiam, since it took up 2 blocks together to make one
Atmosphere: 8.5/10 (a huge patronage in this restaurant, a noisy and exciting atmosphere)
Design: 6.5/10 (not too impressive, but not too bad either, standard kopitiam design, I guess)

Drinks: Iced Milo (mine), Coffee-C (my dad), Coffee-O (my dad in law), Tea-C (my dad's gf) and warm lemon tea (my hubby and mom in law)
Presentation: 5/10
Taste: Dunno what does the others taste like, but mine I'd rate it 6/10, as usual

Food: Tom yam noodles (mine), fish noodles (my mom in law), kolo mee and soup (everyone else)
Presentation: 7.5/10 overall
Taste: 7.5/10 for my tom yam (needed to be spicier than it was) and 6/10 for the soup (it was a little too salty)

It was a satisfying brunch overall, and a recommendable place to go to for your meal. Just remember to get yourself a tall glass of water, coz of the soup

Kedai Kopi Emas Helang

Went out with my friend to go clubbing and karaoke, but before that, my friend needed her dinner since she didn't have it, so I'm accompanying her since I've eaten my dinner already, so she took me somewhere near the place where we're gonna have our night life, which is Kedai Kopi Emas Helang

Location: At Foh Sang area, across the street from Damai area

Setting: Another typical kopitiam setting
Atmosphere: 4.5/10 (patronage is a little slim, but maybe because it's already way past dinnertime and happy hour has started)
Design: 5/10 (old school and standard, nothing much impressive)

Drinks: Soya bean (mine) and chinese tea (my childhood friend)
Presentation: 5/10 for both
Taste: 5/10 (for mine, it needed a little more sugar)

Food: Laksa noodles (for my buddy)
Presentation: 5.5/10 (nothing too fancy, just the typical kopitiam style cooking)
Taste: 5.5/10 (I tasted the egg only, since my friend didn't want it, and it pretty much tastes as much as it looks, so no big deal here)

Nothing too much that I can talk about this restaurant, since I didn't really actually eat anything there, but there could be a possible reprise, but we'll see

Nyonya House

Had spent the entire day shopping at 1Borneo, then met my eldest bro in law's brother and his family at Nyonya House for lunch

Location: 1Borneo, Ground Floor area, near Times bookstore

Setting: A nice Chinese set-up with a hint of Malay, like a standard Nyonya design
Atmosphere: 4.5/10 (despite the nice pretty setting, there wasn't much patronage in the restaurant though)
Design: 7/10 (very beautiful and classic design, the makings of a classy restaurant)

Food: Fried rice, charcoal tofu, spicy and sour fish, chicken piece and kangkung
Presentation: 8.5/10 overall (looks yummy and tasteful, pretty appetizing)
Taste: 8.5/10 overall (tastes great, everything was as it should taste just right and the texture of each food was flavourful. I didn't taste the charcoal tofu though, it looked a little iffy)

A good place to have lunch, though it's quite heavy on your wallet even after Brunei dollar conversion, so go when you only feel really rich enough

The Warehouse

We were thinking of having breakfast with my dad, but he had business to attend to, so we went to venture ourselves, under my dad's recommendation on where to eat. Since my dad in law wanted to have his car washed at the same time, we ate somewhere nearby, which we dubbed The Warehouse

Location: Around the Beverly Hills area, far behind the edge where the car wash is

Setting: Standard outdoorsy-type of a food court that you often see in market places
Atmosphere: 6/10 (pretty fiesty in patronage, though not as much because maybe it's past the morning breakfast peak hour)
Design: 6.5/10 (average outdoorsy design, more or less, but nothing too impressive)

Drinks: Coffee-O (my dad in law), Tea-C both ice and warm (my hubby and mom in law respectively) and iced Milo (mine)
Presentation: 5/10 (standard serving of usually ordered drink)
Taste: Not sure about others, but mine tastes more or less standard, so I rate mine 5/10

Food: Char sau sau rou kolo mee (my hubby), Penang fried kuay teow (me and my mom in law sharing with my dad in law) and a set of dim sum-s
Presentation: 7/10 overall (nothing too fancy, but does give off the tasty feeling of it)
Taste: Not sure how my hubby's noodles taste like, but mine I'd give it a 7.5/10 because it is only here that you can actually have real Penang fried kuay teow with clams, unlike the ones sold in Brunei that didn't come with clams. The dim sum I would give it only 5/10 because some tasted good and some did not, sadly. But the good side is that they come at a pretty cheap price if you convert it to Brunei dollars

A good place to eat. Technically I've been here before only once, but still it is a good place to hang out and have your meals there, if you're thinking of going thrifty
