Pancake House International

Wanting to meet up with my childhood friend who apparently works across the Karamunsing Capital which was opposite the Karamunsing Complex, so we waited until she finished her shift and decided to have some snackage with her before our dinner time at Pancake House International

Location: Grd Floor, Karamunsing Complex, far end of the corner of the building which is the same row as Sony and other electrical shops. Fairly new, it seems, and run by mostly Filipinos, so safe to assume that it's a Filipino branch establishment or a Filipino franchise

Setting: Bistro type of design, but feels almost like dining in one of those Western fast food restaurants, like Pizza Hut or something
Atmosphere: 6.5/10
Design: 5.5/10

Drinks: Coffee mocha, Ice lemon tea and Carrot juice (without sugar)
Presentation: 6/10, 5/10 and 6.5/10 respectively
Taste: Not sure about the others, since I didn't try, but for my drink - 6.5/10

Food: Amazing tacos (as the menu calls it)
Presentation: 4/10 (pretty much on the middle ground; not too fancy, but not too plain either, not enough to impress)

Food: Shrimp gambero
Presentation: 4/10 (too little portion and barely enough filling and sauce, though I'm not sure whether the gambero is supposed to be dry or wet)

Food: Chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter and butter scoop
Presentation: 4.5/10 (a little too plain-looking for a pancake)
Taste: 7/10 (surprisingly tasty and flavourful)

The only beef we have about this restaurant is that their service is WAY TOO SLOW, as it took forever for them just to make our pancakes. Most likely that they don't have the batter ready at hand or they don't make enough batches to put as backup for it, and they make it on the spot.

Another beef we had was their slight incompetence in following orders. My childhood friend requested that the shrimp gambero noodles to be changed from spaghetti to fettucini noodles, but apparently they didn't bother to repeat the order and misunderstood my childhood friend's order of shrimp gambero and chicken fettucini, and after explaining a few times, the waiter insist that this was what my childhood friend ordered until she got a little pissed and questioned his knowledge in the difference between this noodle and that noodle, then he got the picture and said that they cannot change noodles and had to cook it as it was. But we insist on telling him to take away the chicken fettucini because we never ordered it in the first place.

It's a good place to eat, more or less, and the pancakes are actually surprisingly yummy, but be sure to go there only if you're not rushing for time and you have the patience to knock some language and logic barriers into the waiters' skulls
