My Hubby's Food Escapades

Here are some pictures of food that my hubby shared with me that I would like to share to you guys when he went for his business/training trip to Taiwan:

Pork noodle soup for dinner on the day of his arrival

Salad for appetizer during lunch after training
Below is a list of things he ate during one of his dinner out with the sponsors of the training:

Classy liquor, one of the branded good ones that Taiwanese and China men drink

Mee sua

Clear mixed veggies

Some kind of fish dish, but looks more like mashed potatoes to us

Dessert
These are pics he got for me so far. Too bad he didn't really take much pics of food during his trip there, or I would've shared more. LOL

Fisherman Restaurant and Catering

My hubs have gone off to a business/training trip, so it was best that I came home early to relieve my parents-in-law of their duty to look after my princess. So unlike the usual dinner and movie night with my buddy and I, we decided that we're just going to have dinner instead, and just so happen that his colleagues invited us to go try out a bargain BBQ somewhere. So we did and made our way to Fisherman Restaurant and Catering.

Location: All the way down at Bengkurong area, nearby Liangtoon, wherever that is

Setting: Typical kopitiam style restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor dining, nothing too impressive
It was a special offer of $10 per person, an all-you-can-eat BBQ and/or steamboat buffet. Pretty good steal, and we made it in just the nick of time because the offer was going to expire on the next day, Oct 31st Halloween. LOL! Of COURSE we would wanna gorge ourselves as much as possible!

Food available for us to chow on, which includes a whole bunch of seafood and a whole lotta meat

And of course, my buddy couldn't resist posting a pic of us enjoying our food on Facebook:

The food is amazingly delicious, even more so when you're cooking it with your own hands. I swear I never had so much prawn, meat, seafood and fish in my life! I even tried this crawfish-looking crustacean and it's actually quite nice, tastes almost like lobster. LOL

Too bad the offer has expired now, but the buffet meal is still on, just at a different price. Recommended to go and try if you want to have your craving of red meat and seafood.

Rajah's Restaurant And Catering

Had to cancel my dinner date with my buddy, so we settled it being a lunch date instead. And we decided to eat somewhere new but nearby my workplace as well, which is Rajah's Restaurant and Catering.

Location: Within Batu Satu area, same row as Lucky Restaurant

Setting: Typical blend of Malay and Indian kopitiam/restaurant of sorts. Pretty nice atmosphere and nice colour scheme

Le menu

Appetizer of some kind of fried donut, though maybe I shouldn't ordered this because eating this is quite filling enough, and it has a rather odd taste, like trying to eat fritters without anything in it and has quite a bit of basil taste to it

My order of sweet lassi, something that is a must-have in an Indian restaurant

Our set lunches

Close shots of our curry
Food is actually pretty good, and quite filling, but then again, the appetizer sort of contributed to the fullness. The curry was actually quite spicy. Maybe not enough to drive me to tears, but enough for me to resort to sipping my drink midway through my meal, which I usually don't do (I always leave my drinks the last after every meal). Note to self: Next time, if you're going for set lunch, don't get the appetizers unless you're set for a smaller meal.

110 Sports Cafe

After the funeral for my niece, since my rents-in-law are not allowed (due to tradition about burying their young) to attend the burial rites, we met them at the rendezvous where we decided to have our brunch. Here's 110 Sports Cafe

Location: Within Seria, somewhere near the boat harbour

Setting: A rather vibrant colour scheme of red, orange and yellow, gives off a bit of a Chinese restaurant kind of feel

My hubs' beef noodle soup

My seafood noodles soup

Our dessert
Our food tastes pretty good, though I can't help feeling that there is a hint of sweetness in both our soups, and my seafood is pretty fresh. I could still feel the crunch when I bite into my prawn, and the veggies were pretty fresh too. But overall, it was so-so, I guess. It didn't really leave that much of a big impression to me, like there is something missing that they could've done better. The appetizers/side dishes are not too bad, but we still prefer the dim sum from our usual Lucky Restaurant. The eggs tarts tastes delicious though.

Only beef I have is that the help doesn't exactly serve with a smile on their face. In fact they look a little glum and prefer that we just order and go. A little points off that one.
