The Xinful Cafe

Seeing that our meal was not that filling, we decided to have some dessert, thus we went to the cafe next door called The Xinful Cafe (LOL, pun)

Location: Right next to Restoran Ayam Penyet-AP, also same block as Supersave. Originally we wanted to have lunch here, but seeing from outside, we could tell the nature of this cafe is just for snack time.

Setting: Made into a nice little quaint cafe meant for eating desserts and just relaxing while having tea. It was only officially opened on Mother's Day this year, so it's relatively new. Love the cat design though. Apparently it was all drawn and stenciled by hand by the owner of the shop

Cake display

My buddy ordered their green tea and red bean moist cake. Looked a little unappetizing at first, but looks can be deceiving. The taste was actually pretty yum and unique

Ice tea for my buddy to wash the cake down

I ordered their banana waffles, which came with raspberry ice-cream and chocolate sauce. There was a hint of saltiness in the waffle, which is pretty new to me, considering desserts are usually not meant to be salty
It's a really nice, quaint yet underrated cafe that should need more patronage. Food is pretty good, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the owner is really sweet. I could tell she made a lot of effort into doing up this cafe, and I hope this entry would contribute into spreading the word.

Restoran Ayam Penyet-AP

I've noticed a lot of new restaurants at the Gadong Central area where my princess goes to for the pediatric specialist and suggested to my buddy we should try one of the restaurants there. Since we're both not that rich in the wallet, we forgone all the Japanese restaurants that seemed to pop outta nowhere like mushrooms and went for something Indonesian, which led us to Restoran Ayam Penyet-AP

Location: Gadong Central, right past the same block as Supersave

Setting: Pretty quaint and Malay restaurant-ish themed, with its classy black and all that. Love the stuff they post on the wall though, adds a nice touch

Free complimentary soup for whatever we are ordering, though it's self-service, and the soup tastes quite sweet

Our ayam penyet dish. I went for the classic in-house dish while my buddy went for a different meat, beef, I think. Sadly while my dish is more or less worth the price (our food comes with drink and rice at $5++), my buddy's dish did not

Close-up shot of our dishes

The dishes were pretty standard taste, I have to say, but I am definitely impressed with the soup and the sambal sauce. The sauce was piping spicy hot, and made me sweat bullets, LOL! And the soup was actually quite sweet, unlike most Indonesian or Malay soup that is cooked super salty. Unfortunately it was not that filling, so yeah, kudos on the effort though

V.Lo Cafe aka Depot

Went out on a usual lunch date with my buddy, and my little princess decided to tag along. It was our usual food-hunting and Russian Roulette food decision time, and our stomach led us to V.Lo Cafe aka Depot

Location: Kiarong Central, where I used to work, and right behind the Baiduri Bank Kiarong branch building

Setting: A warehouse-ish look, with the lightings on the ceiling really looking like you're entering some sort of factory warehouse, and the chairs were pretty interesting as they are not similar to each other and has its own colour coding

I had to add this. My cute little princess sitting on her very first baby chair X3

My watermelon juice drink

My buddy's ice tea, which somehow has an interesting layer colour

My order of Catch of the Day (I think that's what it's called), which basically is a fish fillet sandwich with chips. If they minus out the bread, I could be eating fish and chip and none would be the wiser

My buddy's burger, which I totally forgot what the dish was. Looks almost like the Royal Joe he ate last time with the sunny side up, but the patty is just like any other burger patty

My buddy's side dish of calamari and shrimp. Tastes pretty good with the sauce, but I didn't really eat much, only till the end, since I had a humungous dish to finish, and a princess to entertain

It's actually pretty good, the food is delicious, the price pretty reasonable, though a little on the kaching side, and the drinks were splendid, tasteful just the way I like it. The setting is pretty creative and the atmosphere is nice, though too bad I would've enjoyed it more if my little princess didn't need my attention, but you can't say no to a baby, LOL!
