Ate out for Xmas Eve last year, and we went to the restaurant that was owned by one of my hubs' relatives, which is Peppermint

Coffee Bean Snippet

Went for my very rare lunch date with my buddy (with my girls tagging along), and we decided to go eat at Coffee Bean because he's got discount points with his special offer card or something

First Successful Cooking

I am an absolute abomination in the kitchen, but I at least know how to cook the basic stuff, still learning most of other things. For a moment, our maid was occupied looking after our dying grandmother, so I had to pull my weight around the house, and that includes cooking. So yeah, this is my first success of basic home-cooking of fried rice ^^;

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts

We were shopping at the shopping mall in my hometown when we lured by the smell of tarts from this stand called Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts. Seems like it's some kind of franchise, though we've never really heard of this chain before.

And oh, how wrong we were to have never heard of this, because it was an explosion of flavour the moment I took my first bite.

In fact, my first words after taking one bite was "Oh, mother of god!" It was THAT tasty.

SO gonna get it again when we go back to my hometown this year

Cake Display

Was buying some ice-cream when I saw their ice-cream cake display (wasn't a very attention-grabbing stand, so didn't do a full photo session about it), so I took shots of them to share

Hailam Kopitiam

Finally a chance for new restaurants when my family went back to my hometown for the hols. First off, Hailam Kopitiam

Location: Within Imago Shopping Mall

Setting: Typical big Chinese restaurant display style, but also have a bit of a kopitiam vibe as well, though it’s more restaurant than kopitiam vibe

Again, it’s been a while since I last ate there, and I’ve forgotten the taste, vibe and feel, so I’m just gonna give an overall rating of how I feel based on my memory impression, which is: 6/10

Pelicana Chicken

Sorry for the lack of updates, but it has been a very long time since I've been to any place new, and these days I was pretty broke and haven't been eating out a lot with my lunch buddy, and pretty much haven't been eating out much in general. Even if I did eat out, it was always the same familiar place because we don't know what to eat, and we don't know enough new places to experiment at. So yeah, sorry for the lack of updates again, but at least there will be updates once in a while for your reading pleasure.

Anyways, managed to wrack up some new places since last year and early this year, so here we go, first stop: Pelicana Chicken

Location: Setia Kenangan 2, in between The Library Cafe and L’orient.

Setting: Standard fast food chain sort of restaurant that is originated from Korea. There are two dining floors – ground and first floor.

Pelicana Chicken operates like fast food chain whereby you order over the counter and pay for them. The Cashier will then give you a waiting number which you will bring with you to the dining table and the server will bring food based on the waiting number.

Tbh, it’s been pretty long since I last been there (I’ve only been there once) and my impression of the food is practically kinda off, barely remembered the vibe, taste and feel of the place, so I’m just gonna share with you what I’ve ordered and leave it at that.

UPDATE: Apparently the chain is now permanently closed here where I am, so too bad, so sad
