Al Fresco

On our final night at Sutera Harbour, we decided to try out the hotel's restaurant, since it's our last day there and that it was only fair we spend it using the hotel's facilities and make use of the discount member card my godma gave us. After weighing our options, we chose Al Fresco.

Le setting

The wine rack, which I would love to order one to compliment whatever I was going to order but the price... TT_TT

More of le settings, with some happy-go-lucky waiters photobombing/posing for my shot

Our appetizer with some kind of vinegar-ish guacamole dip

My drink, while my hubs settled for plain cold water

My princess' kids meal, which is fish and chips

My girl opted for eating the chips only, and had a wee bit of fish, so I helped her finish it. The fish is fresh, definitely not the kind of fish you know that it is pre-frozen the moment you tasted it, and the batter is nice and crunchy. The cherry tomatoes were great as well. Love 'em.

Forgot what was the official name for it, but this is basically my grilled salmon steak with broiled potatoes and veggies

Tastes slightly dry a bit, but not so bad, and it's nice and fresh, and the skin is relatively crunchy. Yummy and delicious, and the vegs were pretty good too. Although it was a little odd having red pepper and peas as the topping sauce for the fish, it pretty much compliments it and tasted amazing. SO worth the money ordering this.

My hubs rack of lamb

I dunno how the vegs taste like, and I only managed to grab a taste of the meat, but I gotta say, it's actually quite juicy and tender. LOVE the presentation and it was definitely worth the money ordering this food as well.

The price is a little dear, but it is to be expected for hotel food, but all in all, aside from a bit of distraction from our little girl, the meal was definitely satisfying and amazing. Thanks to the discount member card, we only needed to pay half the rate of the food, but either way, it was absolutely worth it. Definitely gonna sign in as members and get us that awesome member card to enjoy great food like this.

The Cafe BBQ Chicken

Was trying to figure out dinner after checking in to our fancy hotel at Sutera Harbour, and we somehow ended up going to this new mall recently built called Imago and after scouring around for dinner options, we finally settled on this one: The Cafe BBQ

Location: Basement floor of Imago

Setting: A bistro-ish design, feels almost like going into Nando's Chicken, but not really. Love the framed pics around the wall though

Le menu

Mushroom soup and french fries for my little girl

My grilled chicken with kimchi rice (I think)

The chicken tasted juicy enough, and the vegs were nice, but overall, the flavour was more or less mediocre at best. Not too bad, not too good either.

Grilled chicken rice set for my hubs

Unfortunately, I didn't try my hubs' food, but his chicken is more or less cooked the same way as mine, so it's more or less prolly similar.

Side dish of boxing chicken

Prolly one of the best I've eaten so far. It's quite crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. I prolly enjoyed it a bit more than my own chicken, only it's a little bit oily for my taste.

We came here to eat this coz we wanted to try something new and we were kinda hungry, so yeah. A reprisal might be needed to have a much better judgement over this, but overall, I would give it a rating of:

6.5/10

Restoran Sri Melaka

My hubs and I decided to have a little R&R back in my hometown, but we needed my godma's help to get us in this fancy hotel with her discount vouchers, so before we went there, we went to have some lunch. And she recommended this place for us: Restoran Sri Melaka.

Location: Within the center of town, just across the street from my godma's workshop and opposite the building that used to be the Golden Screen Cinema

Atmosphere: Typical Malay restaurant, with the green theme and slightly Melaka motif

These are the food that we have ordered:

From left to right: Beef rendang, kangkung and tofu with egg sauce

Close up shots

The food tastes pretty good, but then again, we were quite hungry so everything seemed to taste good, but the kangkung definitely tasted the best, and it being my most favourite veggie had nothing to do with it ;p The beed rendang was nice, a little heavy on the sauce and the tofu is cooked with the right consistency and texture and the sauce with just the right flavour.

Our dessert of ABC

Something a Malaysian definitely must have while you're back in your hometown. Technically Brunei also have their own ABC, but home is where the heart is and ABC back home still tastes the best.

It had been a long time since I've been to this restaurant. The last time I went there was in grade school, so there is not much that I could remember of the food I've eaten that I can reminiscence with, but still, if you want to have a nice, simple Malay meal at an affordable price, this is one of the right places to be.
