Lee Loi Fatt Returns

We had one of those impromptu quickie lunch dates since we missed out on our usual Monday lunch date, and I was craving for something that comes with soup since I was having a bit of a sore throat, but Big Mama was full (surprisingly), so we decided to return here to eat.

My wantan noodle soup with seafood

My buddy's laksa

My buddy's side dish of chicken wings
Food was pretty good, nonwithstanding, though it was a wee bit bland, but still satisfying. Though unfortunately I underestimated the strength of noodles and got super hungry later that night, but at least it was good food that wasn't too hard on my throat. I did try one wing though. It's a little bit too oily, but tastes very fresh.

I'm a sucker for punishment since I'm not supposed to eat fried stuff when I have a sore throat though...

Kojo Teppanyaki Restaurant and Catering

My hubs and I were going off to have my phone upgraded to 3G, so we decided to eat somewhere nearby, and we went to the Gadong Properties Centre food court and gave one of the new stands a try, which is Kojo Teppanyaki Restaurant and Catering

Apparently this store is owned by my hubby's uncle's brother, and he was the cook, and I can totally see the resemblance somehow

Our waiting number

My order of teppanyaki chicken and prawn

My hubby's teppanyaki beef order
Tastes pretty good, nice and piping hot, fresh from the pan, and the salad that went with it was very fresh and crunchy. I can see it having potential to expand and make a mark in the food industry. It's a nice place to come back to, and a reprisal might be available

Nur Wanita Reprise

My buddy and I didn't really have much of a craving, and we were in the neighbourhood when we were doing our thing at the bank (him to get his credit card, me to bank in some money into our joint account), so we decided to go to Nur Wanita, which was covered by me like forever ago.

Our drinks

My buddy's usual order of green curry everytime he wants to sample a new Thai restaurant

My order of pad thai

My side dish order of spring rolls

My buddy's order of the Nur Wanita special platter (consist of spring rolls, fish cakes and pandan chicken)
I got smart and decided to order something actually Thai instead of something that I could get from any other kopitiam, and this pad thai was alright, though it needs a little bit more spice and the grounded peanuts that I usually eat at most Thai restaurants when I order pad thai.

My buddy's green curry got a pretty nice kick. He claims it to be quite spicy, and I agree to an extent, though it still tastes more of a kick than most. I was a little disappointed with my spring rolls, because I was expecting it to be the one where they use edible paper for the spring rolls like in the menu, but unfortunately it came out fried. They got the filling right though.

It's true that pictures may differ from the actual product

Brunei's Kenny Rogers

Apparently Kenny Rogers have opened a franchise here in Brunei, and after quite a while, we finally went down to give it a try

Location: Within Rimba, inside Giant Hypermart

Setting: Pretty much accurate to the actual Kenny Rogers design, though this alphabet collage looks pretty interesting

Our quarter chicken order

My hubby's caramel milk

My chocolicous milk

Our muffins that comes in with our food set order
The food service is pretty fast and efficient, and the food tastes pretty much similar to the Kenny Rogers we ate in KK, although they prolly need a slightly bit more flavour than this, and the muffin my hubby had wasn't really baked through, though thankfully mine was baked through and tasted good. The drinks were delicious though.

But still, honestly, the branch in KK was a bit better.

Good Taste Bah Kut Teh Restaurant

Went down to Miri for a routine dentist appointment, and before we do, we had lunch, and we just randomly picked this place called Good Taste Bah Kut Teh Restaurant

Location: Around the Boulevard area, not sure near where

Setting: Typical Chinese kopitiam store

Le menu, which is interesting, since it's got a burlap sack style cover

Me and my dad in law's order of bah kut teh with spare parts

My hubby and her mom's order of standard bah kut teh

Side order of bean sprouts
It was a pretty decent meal more or less. It's not as good as some bah kut teh I eaten, but it's more or less standard tasty stuff. Could've have more spare parts though, but I do love the bean sprouts. Mmm~
